She wouldn’t in a million year think about doing a photo shoot, if it wasn’t for her daughter Marilena gift her this photo shoot.
Love that Grace Borg Arti shares her photo shoot result and her experience. She is an artist, a mother, a wife and a Nanna. She is 74 and she shows that age is just a number. Through photography, I was able to capture a different side of her and show her spirit that she is truly young at heart. Now she has the beautiful portraits which are the constant reminder of her beauty and young spirit, and the portraits will be pass on the generations become family legacies. #portraitlegacy #40over40

Grace:”I had never believed that at the age of 74 I would be photographed by a professional photographer. This photo shoot was a treat from my daughter Marilena. At first I was a little anxious about the idea , but when I saw the photos taken my first expression was WOW. To tell you the truth this photo doesn't reflect my true character being that of a homely Mummy and Nanna.(The rest of the photos show this side of me).I decided to be a little daring and this clever photographer skilfully brought out the other side of me, the dramatic artistic side.This was an experience of a lifetime and I can truly say that it's never to late to experiment.Well done dear Amanda and thank you my wonderful daughter MARILENA.” #malta #maltaphotographer

When Kate did her photo shoot, she was coming out

When Kate did her photo shoot, she was coming out of a very dark period in her life and she wanted to capture her turning point.
During the interview, Kate talked about her adventure in Petra, Jordan, something her life and something her work. She said, "My purpose and soul mission has always been to help and heal people - it is where i find most joy and meaning and what comes naturally to me. A physical therapist, I run a boutique Pilates and Yoga studio. Sessions with clients include Pilates and Yoga, fitness, nutrition, detoxification, essential oil massage - the aim being to bring people back into balance through these different modalities depending on what they need."
One of Kate's portrait is NOW exhibiting at Canon Malta Avantech in San Gwann. The portrait is printed with Canon Pro-2000.
The Exhibition is from 1st July to 30th September

Lorraine, 52, another amazing woman/goddess I photographed. She said, “Fear is the only thing stopping you from doing what you truly want. Ultimately the worst thing to do is to live with regret. A moment gone can never be replaced. Seize the moment!!!!!! Love life and all it brings. The French nailed with the saying JOIE DE VIVRE and that is what every day should look like.”

When is the last time you do things for yourself? Just for yourself.

So many women busy looking after their love ones and put themselves to the last one on the list. But remember, you deserve to be pampered and treat yourself well. More importantly, when you are happy, everyone around you share the joy and happiness.

This is Loraine, 46. What remarkable about Loraine is, she would get out of her way to help people. There was one of the ladies who couldn't make it to the photo shoot because her job was demanding, she wouldn't be able to make it in time to join the project if it wasn't for Loraine who would change her photo shoot slot for her.

Here Loraine share her experience:
For me the photo shoot was super fun and finally it was something nice which was being done for MEEE ... which I haven't had in a loooong time. Also due to COVID I haven't wore those clothes in ages it seems and it did feel so great dressing up.
For me beauty means a distinctive personality, a person who can smile, one who is especially kind and caring, understanding and loyal, treating others with respect and integrity. I still see beauty in every woman that same way at any age ! I don't feel confident at all with my appearance and unfortunately it's something beyond my control .. but I am very confident in my personality and do love my character.
My passion is photography it felt very weird being in front of the lens ... but it felt soooo good .. Amanda you are a great person to work with.

I was excited when I was coming to see the photos .. I was a bit shocked because I could not believe that that person was meee .. I looked so different with a different hairstyle, with makeup which I hardly ever wear .. but I looked amazing

I would tell other women in their 40s, 50s or 60s about the photo shoot... Go for it .. enjoy these moments because we have done soo much for others in life , you now have an opportunity to do something for you ... You will feel Amazing and Gorgeous no matter what !

Yesterday I posted Josie's image and I've got great responses! Here is Josie's thoughts about her experience. I'm so glad that she wrote it down so I can share it with you. <3

"The moment I learnt about the 40 over 40 project, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. So, I used my upcoming birthday as an excuse to indulge in some self-approved vanity. I booked my session six weeks in advance so I had adequate time to prepare for the day. However, nothing could prepare me for the vast range of emotions that I would experience before, during and after the photo shoot.

I admit, the photo shoot was tons of fun. It raised my confidence to new levels. I left the studio 6 feet taller and 20 kilos lighter! I was practically flying out the door.

But then I began to worry… What if I didn’t manage to get at least one good photo? Did I smile enough or too much? What are people going to think of me and my moment of narcissism?

These were the thoughts going through my mind on more than a few sleepless nights.

Then the big day arrived. I call it the big day, because seeing the photos turned out to be a bigger event than the actual photo shoot.

I was nervous but excited. I couldn’t wait to see what Amanda was going to share with me. Again, nothing could prepare me for what I saw!

Looking through my pictures was like seeing myself for the first time with totally different eyes. I could tell what I was feeling in each capture and just couldn’t believe how well Amanda seemed to know me. She caught my joyful moments, my vulnerability and uncertainty but also managed to make me look and feel so beautiful. I have never seen my inner beauty come out so raw through a photograph.

I was truly overwhelmed. I felt like crying, I felt like shouting, I wanted to show the whole world that I, too, could be beautiful. On my 45th birthday I had gifted myself the beauty of joy by celebrating the joy of beauty."

Josie is the type of woman when she walks into the

Josie is the type of woman when she walks into the room the place lite up with delightfulness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

She turned 45 in March but she made me feel as she were in her 20s, full of energy, enjoying life and a lot of laughters around her. She read all the notes and suggestion I gave her, she was well prepared for the shoot and we had fun and it was a blast.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t remember how the photo shoot and interview we did turned into some great conversations. I am inspired by her and her stories. She told me about how she felt before the photo shoot, during the photo shoot and after the photo shoot. I love hearing stories like this, she gave me clear pictures of the process that she went through and how she was empowered by the photographic experience.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One of the things she said still make me smile, she said, she didn’t expect she would have many good photos but end up seeing so many beautiful photos presenting in front of her. She was happily overwhelmed. I’ve seen many women have similar experience in my studio, I think one of the reasons is, we, as women, are often too harsh on ourselves, criticise ourselves with small little things.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I believe that you don’t have to be a 20 years old or a skinny super model to have beautiful photographs. I believe that every woman can have and deserve beautiful photographs that will be cherished forever.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
